WHAT IS A BLOCKCHAIN?

A blockchain is simply a peer to peer decentralized digital ledger(or record) of various transactions that are conducted across and among a vast network of computer systems. These blocks of information are part of a larger chain of records which form the basis for what is known as the blockchain. The blockchain is protected by what we call cryptography - encryption algorithms that keep the network secure.
